About Alexia

Hi, I’m Alexia (they/them), a third-generation settler from the Eastern Aegean islands of Samos and Lesvos and Pontian ancestry, living on the unceded and sacred Wurundjeri lands of the Kulin nation.

I am a social worker, somatic practitioner, counsellor and group facilitator with over 12 years of experience in the community services sector working alongside survivors of systemic marginalisation and violence.

Through my training, professional and personal work, I’ve developed a deep understanding of how trauma, emotions and experiences are held in the body. My counselling and therapeutic approach is embodied, integrating somatic practices to support healing and personal integration. My work draws on contemporary neuroscience, especially in relation to nervous-system regulation, trauma and attachment theory.

I also provide individual supervision for social workers and youth workers. This work is grounded in critical social work, anti-oppressive and decolonial frameworks and systems thinking. I also bring a somatic lens to supervision, supporting practitioners to manage stress and burnout while deepening reflexive practice.

I believe the benefits of wellbeing practices reach beyond the individual. I’m passionate about how therapeutic tools can support sustained, collective action- work that is essential to dismantling harmful systems and cultivating communities of care and connection.
